At PR&P we see planning and programming as an integral parts of the design process not as a separate discipline.

Principles of planning are important to help define the design process in order to communicate a clear road map that will guide all members of the design team.
We have found that many projects from simple historic rehabilitations to large academic facilities often require a certain level of master planning and project programming.

At PR&P we have the expertise in creating master plans that evaluate financial and economic factors, land-use planning, facilities management, project timelines and phasing issues.

We are currently working on a master plan for a sustainable forestry education center whose mission is to train students and practicing foresters, alternate methods of forestry management.
The center will be located on a magnificent site in Trinity County and will include educational and training facilities, agricultural fields, student housing and an on-site natural sewage treatment plant. The Master Plan we are now completing includes a detailed site selection process, site planning and detailed programming of the interior and exterior spaces including adjacency matrices and Room Data sheets.

On a smaller scale we recently completed master planning for a new joint-use Library in Solano County for Suisun City and the Fairfield Suisun Unified School District. Our efforts included community workshops to provide public input, site planning for the project, detailed programming of the facility spaces, plan layouts and photorealistic computer images of the proposed building concepts.
