Columbia College Bid - Under by 13%
Columbia College Child Development Center bid came in under budget by 13%!
The two lowest bids were only $5,000 apart,
with the lowest coming from Bobo Construction at $5,584,000. The center
consists of five residential type buildings and outdoor learning areas,
located in a rural area of the Sierra Foothills. Paul Roberts &
Partners, Inc. was meticulous in detailing not only environmentally
friendly products, but products that create a higher standard of
healthy environments for children. As a result of the low bid, several
items are now being included that had been listed as additive
alternates as a result of value engineering. These include elaborate
outdoor playscapes, an entrance gazebo, decorative fencing and gates,
and engineered stone countertops.
The project is registered at the LEED Gold Level.
